What is the Wheel of the Year?
The Wheel of the Year is a spiritual and agricultural calendar celebrated in many Pagan traditions, particularly Wicca. It marks the cyclical nature of the seasons and the ever-changing aspects of life, emphasising the deep connection between humanity and the natural world. The Wheel is divided into eight festivals, also known as Sabbats, each representing a significant point in the Earth's annual journey around the Sun.

Beltane is...
Beltane is one of the four quarter day festivals in the Celtic Wheel of the Year. It marks the return of summer and the point where the land is fully alive again.
This was a time when communities came together to celebrate the fertility of the earth. Livestock were returned to pasture. The land was no longer resting. It was growing, blooming, producing.
The word Beltane means bright fire.
Fire sat at the heart of everything.
Bonfires were lit as a way to cleanse, protect and bless. People would gather around them, walk through the smoke, dance, and sometimes jump the flames. Farmers would move their animals between two fires before sending them out to the fields.
In many places, all hearth fires would be put out and a new sacred fire would be lit. That flame would then be taken back into each home. In this way, the whole community was connected through one shared fire.
Beltane was also a time of connection and attraction.
A time of relationships, of coming together, of celebrating fertility in every sense. Not just physical, but creative, emotional and energetic.
What matters now is not recreating the past exactly, but understanding the feeling of it.
This is a time of joy.
A time to come out of winter.
A time to move, to feel, to be seen.
Beltane asks you to recognise what is growing in your life and give it energy.
Your ideas. Your desires. Your direction.
And to step into the life that is already trying to rise through you.
A CEREMONY OF YOGA ,
COASTAL EXPLORATION, FIRE & CONNECTION

FIRE YOGA
This is a Beltane fire ceremony.
A space to awaken your inner flame and build the courage to carry it into the rest of the day.
We work with Manipura, the fire centre at the solar plexus.
The place of power, heat and transformation.
The place where action begins.
Through movement and breath, we build the fire.
Not slowly. Not passively.
We ignite it.
This fire is here to burn through fear.
To move you out of hesitation.
To bring you back into your body, your instinct, your knowing.
Guided by Goddess Durga, the shining one, the radiant force of courage and truth, we call in the energy of the fearless woman.
The one who does not hold back.
The one who does not shrink.
The one who meets life fully.
This is the wild woman awakening.
Fierce. Alive. Clear.
Not something you think about.
Something you feel in your body.
This is the fire you take with you.
COASTAL EXPLORATION
Coastal exploration is a guided journey along the edge of the land and sea, held by the experienced team at North Devon Coasteering.
With their support, you are free to explore, move and challenge yourself within a safe environment.
It brings you into direct contact with the elements.
Rock, water, height and movement.
You climb.
You swim.
You find your footing.
And sometimes, you jump.
This is where the work becomes real.
Where your fire meets action.
Where hesitation meets decision.
And something shifts.

LOCATION

Hele Bay is where we bring the fire into the real world.
Set within the Lunation Triangle, held between the Preseli Hills, Lundy Island and Stonehenge, this coastline sits within an ancient relationship between land, sea and sky.
The Preseli Hills are where the bluestones of Stonehenge were formed.
Carried across land and water, those stones became part of one of the most powerful ancient sites we know.
That same line runs through here.
Through this coastline.
Through the water.
Through you as you stand at the edge.
Hele Bay is raw, open and alive.
This is why we come here at Beltane.
Not just to look, but to experience.
To take the fire you have built and use it.
Secret Sauna
A return to warmth.
A space to soften after the edge.
Held by Secret Sauna, this is where the body begins to land.
The heat works deep into the muscles.
Easing tension.
Supporting recovery.
It brings you back into your breath.
Slowing the system.
Settling the energy.
From cold sea to deep heat.
From activation to rest.
This is where the experience integrates.
Where the body absorbs what has happened.
Where you begin to feel the shift.

FIRE CEREMONY
We close together on the beach, gathered around the fire.
After the movement, the edge and the water, we come back into warmth and into each other. The fire becomes a place to land, to feel what has shifted, to let the body soften while still holding the energy of the day.
Hot chocolate in hand.
S’mores on the fire.
Simple. Grounding. Real.
A moment to pause.
To breathe.
To take it in.
The circle gently closes.
But the fire you have lit stays with you.
