Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is a personalised approach to yoga that uses movement, breath, rest, meditation and self-reflection to support your physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing.
Unlike a general yoga class, yoga therapy is tailored to you. Each session is shaped around what is happening in your body, your life, your energy and your nervous system. Together, we explore practices that help you feel more grounded, resourced and connected.
I hold a Diploma in Dru Yoga Therapy, and my approach is gentle, trauma-informed and rooted in curiosity, compassion and choice.
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy brings together the tools of yoga in a way that supports your individual needs. This may include breathwork, gentle movement, restorative postures, relaxation, meditation, visualisation, yoga nidra, mudra, mantra, journaling or simple practices to take into daily life.
It is not about achieving a posture or pushing the body. It is about listening more deeply, understanding what your body is communicating, and finding practices that help you feel safer, steadier and more at home in yourself.
Yoga therapy can support you physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. It can be especially helpful when you want a more personal approach than a group class can offer.
What is Yoga Therapy is Not
Yoga therapy is not counselling, psychotherapy or medical treatment.
I do not diagnose, prescribe, treat medical conditions or replace the support of your GP, consultant, counsellor or therapist. Instead, yoga therapy works alongside any care you may already be receiving, offering practical tools to support your wellbeing, body awareness, breath, rest and nervous system regulation.
It is a complementary practice that helps you build a more supportive relationship with yourself.

What happens during a session
Each session begins with a conversation about how you are feeling, what you are experiencing and what you would like support with. From there, I create a practice that is specific to you.
Your session may include:
Gentle movement and therapeutic yoga postures
Breathwork to support calm, energy or balance
Restorative yoga and deep relaxation
Grounding and nervous system support
Meditation, visualisation or yoga nidra
Reflection around lifestyle, rhythm and self-care
A personalised home practice with video or audio support
The practice will always be adapted to your body, your energy levels and your needs on the day.
Your first session is 90 minutes. This gives us time to talk through your needs, explore what is happening in your body and life, and begin creating a practice that supports you.
Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes and build on your personal practice. Over time, we refine what works, adapt as things change and create a simple set of tools you can return to between sessions.
You will also receive ongoing support through personalised videos, audio practices or simple home guidance, so the work can continue gently outside the session.
How Yoga Therapy Can Help
Yoga therapy can help you develop practical tools to feel more grounded, present and connected to your body. It may support better rest, breath awareness, emotional regulation, confidence in movement and a deeper sense of inner steadiness.
The aim is not to “fix” you. The aim is to support you in listening to yourself, honouring your needs and building a practice that helps you meet life with more ease, resilience and compassion.
